I have the new Verizon iPhone 4. The reason that the original iPhone 4, AT&T version, of the Otterbox Defender case does not fit the Verizon iPhone 4 is the placement of the mute button. The Verizon iPhone's mute button is slightly lower down on the side of the phone than the AT&T iPhone 4. The original, AT&T, iPhone 4 Otterbox Defender case actually puts pressure on the mute button making it difficult to slide.
I bought this case because the description says Hybrid. DO NOT think that because the description of a case says Hybrid that is made for both AT&T and Verizon iPhones. Make sure to read the description carefully. If it doesn't say that the case if made for both carrier's flavor of iPhone 4 then be wary. Also, the RED Otterbox case doesn't actually look as RED as the one in the picture. It's more of an "orangeish" pink color. I thought it was just my eyes or maybe the lighting at first, but then the guys at the office asked why I bought a pink phone case. Imagine my dismay. So anyway, I've decided to go with a plain black Otterbox case and this time I'm going to make sure that it is made for the Verizon iPhone 4.
Otterbox's web site has the model number listed for the Otterbox Defender case that is compatible with the Verizon iPhone. You can also find it here on Amazon's site by model number.
PROS: Execellent case. Clean, tight fit. Protects the phone like a tank.
CONS: The RED color is not that great. I've seen the BLUE case and it's nice if you like blue.
Good Luck!
